DryJect for Sports Turf & Others

DryJect for Sports Turf & Others

Traditional core aeration is time-consuming and requires several steps to return turf to a playable surface. DryJect® is a revolutionary service which, when added to your maintenance program, can reduce the need for core aerification and greatly amplify the benefits of sand and other amendments by distributing them into the ground more completely.

DryJect’s high-pressure, water-based injection system blasts aeration holes through the root zone to fracture the soil, while its patented vacuum technology simultaneously fills holes with amendment. Relieve compaction, increase water filtration, reach the root zone with oxygen and amend your soil simultaneously, leaving the surface smooth and playable. Best of all, an independent DryJect service professional does it for you, so you don’t need to own the DryJect machine to experience its benefits.

DryJect allows you to:

  • Help new sod knit to the soil below by creating channels filled with amendment, allowing roots to penetrate deeper.
  • Punch through sports turf, allowing better root proliferation.
  • Combine soil modification with aeration for increased soil benefit.
  • Adjust aeration spacing and depth (up to 8 inches).
  • Inject amendments such as sand and porous ceramics directly into the soil.

Whether it is greens, tees, fairways or a football field, they all share the macro benefits of Dryject’s unique delivery system of sand and amendments as well as the shattering aeration effect.

A distinct difference with Sports fields – Soccer, Football and Baseball is that with each of these, the turf is cut at a much higher height compared to greens and even fairways. Sports fields are cut anywhere from 1”- 2” in height. Croquet and Tennis courts are usually cut pretty close – somewhere between 1/4” to 1/2” – but even at these heights, it is difficult to drag in amendments into holes.

Because these fields are cut at these heights, it is VERY difficult if not impossible to backfill hollow and solid tine holes with amendments because the majority of the amendment is caught up in the turf canopy.  Leaving too much up in the turf canopy at one time can cause layering of amendment, then Organic Matter (OM), then amendment again. This layering is detrimental to the root zone as it negatively affects infiltration rates by causing a perched water table above each sand layer. This is why the industry has gone to light and frequent top-dressing practices. The higher the height of cut, the more the potential for layering when backfilling holes.

Using DryJect eliminates this issue!

DryJect uses a high-speed, water-based injection system to blast aeration holes through the root zone to fracture the soil. The patented vacuum technology simultaneously fills holes to the surface with high volumes of sand or amendment. This means you can relieve compaction, increase water infiltration, reach the root zone with oxygen and amend your soil with high volumes of material simultaneously. Plus DryJect leaves the surface smooth and playable.
